Three Stage Summer Intermediate Mountain Bike Camp

Rad Adventures Intermediate Mountain Bike Camp - Ages 8-13

Our camp is designed for youth who have basic mountain biking experience and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Through engaging activities and guided practice, participants will enhance their riding techniques, improve their confidence on challenging terrains, and learn important safety skills. The program covers trail navigation, proper braking and shifting, cornering, obstacle handling, and basic maintenance techniques. Emphasizing teamwork, environmental awareness, and responsible riding, this course aims to foster a passion for mountain biking while ensuring participants develop the skills needed for exciting and safe adventures on the trails. Whether exploring new terrains or refining existing skills, youth will gain the confidence and knowledge to enjoy mountain biking independently and responsibly.

Camp Highlights:

  • Skill Development: Learn more advanced bike handling techniques, including cornering, braking, jumping, and navigating technical features like rocks and roots
  • Trail Riding: Take on a variety of mtb trails, from flowy singletrack to more technical descents, with guidance from experienced coaches.
  • Bike Maintenance: Understand the basics of bike care, including how to fix flat tires, adjust brakes, and keep your bike in top shape.

Participants will also practice their skills on our Rad ramps!

Your child will learn the thrill and joy of mountain biking in a supportive and safe environment.

IMPORTANT:

Before signing up, please ensure your child has the stamina to ride over 10-15 km in a day, can ride on rocky terrain, and is able to push their bike on their own over sections they cannot ride. It is recommended that participants have a lightweight, quality bike from a bike store that weighs less than 40 lbs.

Directions:
8 Minutes from Collingwood. From Collingwood, travel west on Sixth Street to Osler Bluffs Road/County Road 34. Turn left and travel south to Grey Road 19. Turn right and follow Grey Road 19 to the 2nd Line. Turn left and follow the 2nd Line for approximately 0.5 km, at the base of the hill of the escarpment. The parking lot is on the left.

IMPORTANT: A welcome letter will be sent out two weeks before the start of the camp. This letter will contain important information about the camp schedule, procedures, and any additional details you need to prepare for your child's upcoming experience. Along with the welcome letter, there will be forms to complete, including medical information and other essential details, which we kindly ask you to fill out and return promptly to ensure we have all the necessary information to provide the best care and support for your child during the camp.
