Rohan Mehta is an ex cross country, cyclocross and enduro bike racer. Having participated in his first bike race 12 years ago, he has developed a huge passion for the sport over the years. He holds a Level 1 NCCP Mountain Bike Coaching certificate, and has First Aid/CPR training. He also competed in snowboard racing events at a provincial and national level, and is a Level 2 CASI Snowboard Instructor, as well as a Level 1 Park Instructor. Rohan is currently studying Computer Science at the University of British Columbia.
Last summer, Rohan noticed a problem. Riders with improper footwear had issues with injuries and struggles in progression. Shoes are the most important contact point on a bike for proper stability, control and power.Rohan spent time brainstorming and came up with the idea of C6 insoles. They add structure and support to any shoe through a carbon fiber plate lining the bottom of the insole. The name C6 - C stands for Carbon which has an atomic number of 6. He designed and developed the product, and it is currently available through the C6 website. He is confident the insoles will help cyclists’ safety and enable them to have more fun!
